Bruno Mars

This is my first ever blog ever and I have no idea how to do it.
I really wanted to start a blog because I feel I'm going to be having lots of adventures soon and I need a place to record everything!
I don't care if no one ever reads this, but it'll be cool just to have my stuff written down and put out there, you know??

(Note: some random words may be in French every now and then because some things just sound better in French. Not meaning to sound pretentious, but they do.)

So first off, I went to Auckland a couple of weekends ago for the best-concert-ever-that-was-Bruno-Mars.

This was my first adventure of the year outside of the Wellington area.

It started off disasterly because there was a huge tropical cyclone New Zealand-bound for exactly the time I was meant to be flying to Auckland.
I was so so worried all flights would be cancelled and my plans to see the beautiful Bruno that evening would be foiled.
BUT I safely arrived in Auckland after a super smooth flight.
Awesome.

Then Caroline arrived at l'aéroport and we continued on with our journey to my friend Anthony's flat.

His flat was so cool.
And he made me Nutella on toast while I got ready.

Looking fabulously concert-worthy, Caroline and I caught the bus to town where we had delicious chips and lemon-lime and bitters.
(Cheers Caro for the dinner shout!)

We waited in the gale-force winds for about half an hour. It was a sufficient amount of time for our previously perfect hair to become wildly windswept.

T-shirts were purchased and then we moved on into Arena where Bruno Mars would shortly grace us with his smoothness.

Bruno finally came on stage an looked awesome, yet relaxed. His singing was amazing and his dance moves were even better. Actually, I'm not sure which was better. He can just do everything.
The show was so so fun all the way through and we even got showered by an cloud of confetti during "Locked Out of Heaven".
OMG.
Amazing.

Here's a picture of me and Bruno together:

And a couple of him jammin' :

Then we caught a taxi with a really nice taxi driver (can't remember his name! :(  ) and partied hard at Anthony's "Whlat Warming".

We went to sleep with Bruno's sweet music still pounding in our head and the smell of his awesomeness still in our hair.

The next day, Caroline and I explored the shops of Auckland and she caught a bus to the airport. I continued on alone and even took my explorations to the waterfront.
It was so nice and there were lots of St Patrick's Day celebrations going on which added to the good vibes.
However, I was busting to go to the toilet and there was not one in sight!
But fortunately I made it in time to the mall where I could relieve myself.

Auckland Sky Tower:

And I cracked up when I saw this one of Nicolas Cage:

Hahahahahaha. I don't think the fact that Nic values every moment with this watch is going to make anyone else buy it.

I discovered I really like being in cities by myself. You can go wherever you want, do whatever you want and buy whatever you want.
Just whatever.
Take your time and get lost.
Plus, you're constantly surrounded by people, so you're not really alone.

Anyway, I got home safely that night and then returned to uni life the next day.

While the weather on ground was dark and wet, above the clouds it was amazing:

So that's the end of my first blog post.
I'm off to make lasagne.
