Basically a Post of Food. And Some Adventures.

Aloha Sprinklerinos!

So, like the title says, there are gonna be lots of pics of food! And I also realised there will be quite a few selfies too.
I'm just getting more beautiful obvs.

First up is a bowl of udon noodle soup from a Japanese place at Ala Moana:

Mmmmm, that stuff on the left was like, this crispy deep fried stuff that you could help yourself to. So good!

That day was a Friday, so we eventually found ourselves at the amazing Cheesecake Factory.

Left: Mango Key Lime. Right: Fresh Strawberry Cream

We ate these while watching the Waikiki fireworks. Magical experience.

The next morning, Georgia, Shaun and I did the Manoa Falls hike, always a good'un.

Then, because it was Easter Weekend, we went on a search for hot cross buns. We went to Liliha Bakery which had so many delights, I couldn't just have a hot cross bun!

Just a small selection of Liliha's beauties

We took our bakery goods to the rooftop of Shaun's apartment and had a poolside picnic!

Coco Puffs! (choux pastry filled with chocolate)

Hot cross buns and a danish

Their version of a hot cross bun

The hot cross bun was a bit different, it had like, a passionfruit glaze on it, but it had the same sort of flavour and texture as a normal one, so I was satisfied :)

Went to a party in one of the dorms, and a drink was made from boiling candy canes.
Not the best, but it was an experiment!

Cookin'

Georgia and I cooked up some chocolate macadamia pancakes so everyone loved us.

Got a pretty açai bowl from Da Spot:

Made some kumara chips!

Made a salad from lots of stuff I had left over! It had chickpeas, roast kumara, spinach, avocado, celery and lots of italian dressing :D

Skyped a few weirdos

Coconut overnight oats with choc chia seed pudding

I treated myself to a lipstick:

This is apparently the dupe for the lipstick Audrey (or Holly Golightly) puts on in Breakfast at Tiffany's

Got some cheap as food from "Taste of Manoa" on campus. $1.50 per plate!

Tostadas!

It was a wee bit spicy - yum!

Chocolate pudding tart! Was so good, I got 2

Went to a party in Waikiki then headed to Jack in the Box to get some kai!
But they were closed and only had the drive-thru open :(

But that wasn't going to stop us.

Preparing to take on the drive-thru on foot

They wouldn't serve us, jerks.
But our friend Vincent picked us up and we got our food, suckers!

My Pie <3

Tried out a super cool place called Banàn. They make frozen banana ice cream in their food truck and serve it in papaya boats!

Mine was topped with coconut, chocolate and granola

On Fridays, they do this thing where you get 3 free toppings if you have face paint on!
So we got whacked some blueness on our faces and got our ice creams!
Banàn posted this on their Instagram - we're famous

Tried out our VW:

Photo shoot in the hippie mobile

Then it was off to the beach for us!
Prepare for lots of pictures of me and selfies

Me and Waikiki

So happy with my Avatar face

It's supposed to look like I'm holding the palm trees...

Selfies of me and Georgia beachin' it:

Got a yum as burrito for linner

And it was Friday, so you know what that means!
CHEESECAKE

Left: Toasted Smores. Right: Blueberry White Chocolate

The next day we embarked on a crazy 7 hour hike to Ka'au Crater.
Had many near-death experiences but I'm ok now.

It was pretty much muddy rock climbing and river crossings the whole way. Good work out!
There were three waterfalls and a crater which made it worth it.

Waterfall One

Getting a good posi

The team

Got above the first waterfall

Waterfall deux!

Closer up to the second waterfall

Getting up that one was pretty tough. Lots of muddy rope climbing!
But we made it. This is the river that leads into the second waterfall:

And this was the third waterfall:

The rope you can see on the right is what we used to climb up

I got this picture off google because I didn't take my phone out around here. I was concentrating on not falling off the waterfall.

About to cross a flatter part of the waterfall

Inside the crater - doesn't look that impressive but it was cool in real life

Making our way back down!

We went down a bushy track which was soooo much better.

Loving the hike

My muddy leg

Slept well that night! My legs were aching!
Probably the most satisfying shower.

The next morning I had a scuba dive up the east coast.
It was A.Mazing!
I was surrounded by beautiful tropical fish the whole time, explored some reef caves, swum with four turtles and saw a shark!
It was the best feeling being down there, exploring stuff.

I couldn't take any pictures underwater :(
But these hills looked pretty cool when I left the dive:

I was staaaarving when I got home so I got a Thai Coconut Curry with saffron rice from Da Spot for dinner:

The next night, my friend Taka taught me how to make a Korean dish called Soondubu jjigae.

Adding egg to the pot

We ate it with rice and it was super yum! Tasted just like it was from a restaurant.
And I learnt how to cut carrots without chopping my fingers off!

Tuesday meant cheap movies so we went to Ward Theaters to watch The Longest Ride!

Outside the theater

It was also Free Cone Day at Ben & Jerry's!
So we joined the queue for a quick ice cream before the movie.

Pretending to be ice creams

The line went pretty quick and we got our free scoops!

Mine was strawberry cheesecake

Cheap Tuesday also meant $2 popcorn! Wooo!

Happy faces after seeing Scott Eastwood ride bulls
And then, we were still on the movie buzz so we just walked into Insurgent and watched that, even made it perfectly in time to see the shorts!
Two movies for $6. Bargain.

Yeah, so that's it for now!

Update ya later alligators,

Madeleine :)
