Day Five: Leaving San Fran

Hellooooo!!

Sorry for only uploading this now, the wifi at Cayucos was really bad so I couldnt upload any photos :(

But here’s the blog I wrote when we’d arrived in Cayucos:

We've safely made it to the great land of Cayucos, which is a town on the coast between San Francisco and Los Angeles.

Our motel is quite nice, we each get a queen bed!
The wifi is a bit slow though, which is a huge tragedy for us all.

This morning, Dad went to pick up the rental car after breakfast, and that took aaaages! Its a Chrysler Town and Country. Yeeeehaaa!
But once we got them wheels a rollin', we drove to the Golden Gate Bridge as our final farewell to the city of San Francisco.

The lady taking the picture had her finger over the lens  >:(

Kate and I had our handy supply of Lucky Charms to keep our hunger at bay:

After sorting out our GPS woman (she didn’t know what she was talking about for a while there), we were soon cruising down State Highway 1, along the Pacific Coast. I got loooots of pictures because there wasn’t much else to do, apart from sleep, eat and be enchanted by Jack’s singing.

I’ll break up the scenic shots with another beautiful picture:

Kate and I were rocking out to a cool as rock song

We stopped off at this really cool little strawberry store:

You could either pick your own strawberries (but we couldn’t figure out where they were) or you could just take a punnet and pay using the Honesty System. The strawbs were deelish!
There were also jams which you could taste with some animal crackers! One jam flavour was tayberry which I think was a blackberry/raspberry hybrid. This too was very yummy.
Kate got a strawberry shortcake with cream on top.
They also had homemade berry pies.

We drove through Santa Cruz:

(Upper Crust Pizza warmly welcomed us)

And Monterey and Carmel.
We were on the look out for Clint Eastwood because hes an ex-mayor of Carmel. Didnt see him though.
Just after we passed through Big Sur National Park, we spotted some elephant seals:

And also made friends with a cute wee squirrel:

It looooved pistachio nuts.
Bless its little cotton softs.

"Please sir, can I have some more?"

Once at the motel, Kate hopped on her Penny to skate on the super smoothly paved carpark:

When we were all settled into our rooms (Kate and I shared a room and Mum, Dad and Jack shared a room), we headed down the road to Martin’s Restaurant. The waitresses there were super friendly and the food was so good!

Mum, Kate and Jack shared a massive pizza:

Dad got fettucine and scallops, and I got enchiladas.
We shared a bottle of italian Chianti wine.

After that Mum had a turn at taking the act for a spin. That was caraaazy.
Then we went back to the motel to go to sleep.
And write my blog. Which can’t upload. Lame.
One last thing: I’ve had a request from one of my fans for an itinerary of the next few days.
The plans are as follows:
Tomorrow we’re continuing our drive down the coast to Anaheim. We’ll hopefully arrive there late afternoon and maybe do some shopping or just relax. Depends on the LA traffic, apparently it’s dreadful.
The next day will be filled with fun at DISNEYLAND omg.
Then the day after that will either be Disneyland or California Adventureland.
And then the next day will probably be our second Disneyland day (if we don’t do it the previous day).
After that we’ll have two more days in Anaheim (for Seaworld and Universal Studios).
Then onto San Diego!

That’s it for now.
